Notes

The next major increase in sunspot activity is expected in late 2011 or mid-2012. Forecasters are split over whether there will be 90 or 140 sunspots. Solar storms can disrupt Earth communications, and contribute indirectly to significant modification of cloud layering - more charged particles from the Sun cause less clouds to form.
