I am currently working with a client to fill a Data Security Administrator position. This position is in Downer's Grove, IL. The job description and requirements are listed below. This is a contract (possibly contract to hire) position for three (3) months with a tenative start date of Monday, December 17th.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Assists in the implementation, interpretation, communication and monitoring of information technology security policies and procedures. Provides the technical and administrative support necessary to protect the data processing resources. Completes changes and enhancements to information security systems.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the development and implementation of security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms and diverse systems environments.
Implements system access controls based on policies and procedures. Ensures that users are aware of procedures. Informs users when requests have been processed. Reviews security logs and violation reports and follows up as appropriate.
Assists in the review, development, testing and implementation of security plans, products and control techniques.
Performs security awareness training at Information Services, regional offices, and medical facilities.
Assists the senior data security analysts in the implementation of security controls into new and existing data processing applications.
Participates in the review of security features of new software. Works with other ITS staff to assess security system modifications required due to other system changes.
Develops ITSEC procedural documentation as required. Participates in standards defining work groups relating to information security.
Performs other duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
Significant experience, typically five or more years, with technical tasks associated with maintenance of computer security systems. Typically eight or more years, experience in a data processing environment. Supervisory experience is also essential.
Knowledge of security products, including the ability to perform many administrative functions, troubleshoot, interpret reports, consult with users, and assess problems.
Affiliation with a professional data processing association preferred.
Strong organizational, training, communications, and human relations skills.
